Cientificos de la basura (Marine Debris Scientist):

Motivated by the high densities of floating garbage at sea and on the beaches along the SE Pacific we initiated outreach activities. Our scientific studies had shown that most of the garbage on beaches comes from local sources and thus we focussed on the local population. In several projects we worked with schoolchildren of all ages and from several regions in Chile. For these activities we have developed easy-to-use working guides for teachers who want to examine the problem of garbage in the vicinity of their schools.
